snail mail support
Snail Mail Support Mailing List- (in support of the chronically ill who are too sick to use a computer, or are without means to acquire one).
I get up every morning knowing that if I’m feeling lonely and/or isolated in this homebound, sometimes bed-bound experience, I know that I have my laptop. Within it is a world of support, where I connect with others who are homebound with chronic illness, who understand, listen, share and make me laugh. This support lifts my spirits as well as my quality of life.
How hard it would be to not be able to enter this Cyber-world where support, friendship and information await. There are many who are too ill to hold up a laptop, with eyes too sensitive to look into a computer screen, cognitive struggles too severe to write, and fingers that struggle to type.
I hope snail mail support will be away to bring some of this fun, laughter, affirmation, and friendship that we share, into the lives of those who can’t join us here online. In turn our being able to reach out to them will bring new friends into our lives and widen our own circles of support.
How to do this without giving out addresses and invading property, this is the challenge. I’d like to start by using my blog email address, Kerry@lemon-aideonline.com. If you know someone who is unable to join the circle of online homebound chronic illness support, whose spirits would be lifted by a snail mail note, card or letter, here’s what to do:
- Ask them to write a note that gives me permission to share their address with members of my blog. The note needs to say “I give Kerry Ryan-Kuhn permission to share this snail mail address with subscribers (friends) of her blog”. Their address and their printed name and signature needs to follow.
- Email me at the Kerry@lemon-aideonline.com and I will give you my address so they can send their note of permission to me.
- Those who want to send out “snail mail” support, email me at the above address, and I will email you the snail mail list.
Let’s see if this works–let’s reach out and widen this circle of support and friendship to others who can’t reach us online.
Sincerely, Kerry
