I talked to a friend today who is extremely funny. I’m still riding on the giggles I get whenever I talk with her. I followed the phone call up with a visit to her blog. She wrote a post today in which she “found the funny” yesterday in one heck of a tough situation. As I read her writing, I was laughin all over again. To catch some giggles yourself, you can read Lynne’s post at Musings for the Soul.
Early this morning I had another dose of unexpected humor. I called our newspaper in order to change our payment plan to paying for a longer period of time in order to save time and money. I had no idea how “brain-fogged” I was before I made the call. Figuring out which payment plan I wanted, required dividing weeks into months. I couldn’t do it! The woman on the other end would say something like you can pay this amount for 13 weeks or this amount for 27 weeks etc… I kept asking her if she could tell me how many months that was. By the end of the call the women was giggling. Then she shared a bloop she’d made as she was writing down the amount I needed to pay and thanked me for starting her day off with a good laugh.
There was a day when I would have got off the phone feeling embarrassed about my blunders and wonder what in the world the person I was talking to must have been thinkin.
It is such a relief to not feel that way anymore. After all these years of working on making peace with the what is …I didn’t feel embarrassed; instead I thought how cool it is that when someone else goofs it helps us remember that its okay when we goof.
Today I am reminded that humor abounds just about everywhere…especially if we don’t worry what people are thinkin and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Here’s to “finding the funny” this weekend in whatever it may hold! Kerry

Here’s to the funny:)
Cheers!
Kerry,
Thanks to your suggestion, I just checked out Lynne’s blog.
I can only imagine you and Lynne making each other giggle!
Also, I worry less what people think than I used to. Freeing, isn’t it???
Jeanne
I enjoy Lynne’s blog, too. It must be great fun being friends with her!
Oh I forgot to mention that my wife started being extra funny after the baby was born. I mean right after, like, the next day. She wanted me to run down to the hospital cafeteria to fetch her a bagel “with cheme creeze.”
Kerry,
I posted a comment the other day on the blog of your friend, Lynne:

I just posted another comment there that you will probably appreciate due to your MCS.
Thanks for directing me to Lynne’s dream/nightmare post. It helped me be able to laugh at my recent nitrous oxide nightmare incident… (that was not funny at all when it happened).
Better to laugh than to cry, as they say.
Jeanne
I used to get embarrassed about my goofs now I laugh about them. I have my family and friends laughing too. It’s a good feeling when you know people are laughing with you and not at you.
This post made me laugh! I think of all the times that I have brain fog cause of my MCS and CFS, and I did not always laugh. But I have learned to now, and it makes life so much easier!
